Civil Engineer

Overview

In this role you lead civil infrastructure design and delivery across multidisciplinary projects, driving technical excellence while balancing schedule, budget, and safety. You will collaborate with the Belfast and Edinburgh teams to strengthen regional capability and support growth. Expect autonomous ownership of projects from concept to completion and opportunities to mentor junior engineers. The role combines hands-on design leadership with client engagement and business development in a forward-thinking, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and technical delivery for drainage, infrastructure and site development
• Manage project resources, budgets and timelines; contribute to fee proposals and profitability
• Engage with clients, contractors and regulators to secure approvals and maintain credibility
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and mentor graduates, apprentices and junior engineers
• Champion health, safety and professional standards and ensure compliance with relevant procedures

Key requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng)
• 5–10 years’ industry experience
• Chartered status or nearing chartership
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro/Info Drainage and Microsoft Office
