Overview
In this fixed-term Public Health Practitioner role, you will advance Healthy Lifestyles initiatives with a focus on healthy weight, oral health, and food insecurity. You’ll collaborate across local authorities, NHS, and community partners to reduce health inequalities and improve population health in Buckinghamshire. You’ll contribute to wider Healthy Lifestyles programs while remaining flexible to shifting needs. This is a hands-on role within a supportive Public Health team, offering CPD and a path toward Public Health Practitioner registration. You’ll work in a dynamic, inclusive environment that values cross-sector partnership and impact.

Responsibilities
- Deliver and contribute to public health projects focused on healthy weight, oral health, and food insecurity
- Collaborate with internal and external partners including NHS, voluntary sector, OHID, and other leads
- Support flexible and cross-cutting Healthy Lifestyles work programmes
- Work as an Any-Desk worker with occasional office presence
- Operate under the guidance of Public Health Principal within a wider team of Practitioners
- Contribute to reducing health inequalities and improving population health
- Engage in partnership development and stakeholder engagement
- Prepare for potential professional registration in Public Health
- Adapt work areas according to team needs
Key requirements
- Substantial experience in public health or health promotion roles
- First degree and postgraduate qualification in health promotion and/or public health or >=3 years’ related local authority/NHS/voluntary sector experience
- Strong partnership working across local authority services, NHS, voluntary sector, OHID, and national/area leads
