Overview

You will manage the commercial aspects of multi-million pound civil rail projects within a major framework. You align with the rail/civil engineering team to drive cost control, value, and forecast accuracy while maintaining strong client and supply-chain relationships. Your role focuses on risk and change management, ensuring profitability and steady cash flow across projects. This opportunity offers long-term impact on high-value rail infrastructure and construction programs. You will work in a contractor environment, applying NEC/NR contract knowledge to deliver commercial excellence.

Responsibilities

• Reporting and measurement of progress
• Cost control, budgeting, and forecast to completion
• Applications, cash flow, and change management
• Subcontract procurement and supplier management
• Dispute management and resolution
• Maintain client and supply chain relationships
• Conflict avoidance and commercial risk mitigation
• Maximise income and financial performance

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (HNC considered)
• Minimum 5 years UK commercial experience
• Experience with contractor in rail or civil engineering
• Familiarity with NEC or NR forms of contracts
