Elastic Consulting Architect – Public Sector

Overview

In this role you act as a trusted advisor at the highest government levels, aligning Elastic’s delivery with strategic objectives. You will bridge delivery and strategy, owning roadmaps and leading architectural discussions for mission-critical deployments. You’ll craft demos and PoCs, model data, optimize queries, and scale Elastic Stack in distributed environments. The opportunity combines customer advocacy with hands-on technical design, across a collaborative, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer relationships and advocacy with senior stakeholders
• Pivot between delivery work and strategic engagements with customers
• Own strategic roadmap sessions with customers and key decision-makers
• Design and integrate Elastic products, APIs, architecture, and capacity planning
• Develop demos and proofs of concept to demonstrate value
• Model data, optimize queries, and tune clusters for fast search and analytics at scale
• Collaborate with Elastic engineering, product management, and support to drive feature enhancements
• Assist the Sales team to scope opportunities and assess technical risks

Key requirements

• Elasticsearch and/or Lucene hands-on experience
• Minimum 2 years as Software Engineer, System Administrator, or DevOps
• Minimum 5 years as a Consultant delivering professional services
• Current UK security clearance (or eligible/previously held/ready to undergo)
• Experience as technical instructor or public speaker to large audiences
• Strong ability to gather, prioritise, plan, and execute customer requirements
• Open-source enthusiasm with proficiency in at least one programming language
• Hands-on experience with large distributed systems
• Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics
• Willingness to travel for onsite work
