Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mechanical design from concept through to completion
• Produce and review calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
• Coordinate with electrical and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Represent the consultancy in client and contractor meetings
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and support project strategy
• Integrate low-carbon and renewable solutions and carry out site inspections
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technical standards across the team

Key requirements

• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Strong background in mechanical design within building services
• Proficiency in Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux and core Microsoft applications
• Strong knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance
• Experience delivering low-carbon, renewable and energy-efficient mechanical systems
• Awareness of BREEAM and sustainable design principles
• Understanding of electrical interfaces for multidisciplinary coordination
• Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE) or active progression toward it
• Strong communication skills with confidence engaging clients and project partners
