Analyst/Senior Analyst/AD, Fund & Asset Manager Ratings – Manchester

Overview

In this role, you will assess credit quality for funds and structured finance, supporting rating decisions and research efforts within Fitch Ratings’ Funds & Asset Management group. You will work with cross-functional teams to analyze quantitative and qualitative factors, review legal documents, and develop models and databases that inform rating outcomes. The position offers exposure to industry trends and direct interaction with market participants, providing opportunities to influence global credit opinions and research direction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of funds and structured transactions, including portfolio analysis
• Review legal documentation for transactions (indentures, prospectuses, etc.)
• Develop financial models and databases
• Participate in on-site due diligence review meetings with fund managers
• Present rating recommendations to committees
• Contribute to research on relevant trends affecting the sectors covered
• Participate in industry events and interact with investors, bankers, fund managers, and other market participants

Key requirements

• Experience in finance with exposure to funds, structured finance transactions, or debt underwriting or lending (advantage)
• Academic track record to at least a first university degree; preferred fields include finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or computer science
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
