Overview

In this role you will support a Glasgow-based, established accountancy firm by handling year-end accounts, management accounts for SME clients, VAT compliance, and corporate tax work. You will liaise with clients, mentor junior staff, and help clients with accounting systems (Xero, Sage). The position combines technical accounting with advisory elements in a flexible, supportive environment that values progression through ACCA qualification.

Responsibilities

• Year-end accounts preparation
• Preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts for SME portfolio
• Review and submission of VAT returns
• Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
• Client liaison
• Assisting/indirect coaching of junior members
• Use of Xero & Sage; systems advice, setup and training for clients

Key requirements

• 3–4 years broad accounts experience in UK accountancy firms
• Committed to qualifying or newly qualified ACCA
• UK accountancy practice background essential
