Senior Electrical Engineer – Leeds

Overview

You will support the delivery of electrical building services across multiple sectors from concept to construction within a collaborative team. You’ll produce designs, calculations, reports and drawings that meet client needs and standards, while working through RIBA stages 1–4. The role includes site surveys, construction-stage duties, and coordination with clients, architects and other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery. You’ll apply sustainable and energy-efficient building concepts and help maintain high design quality across projects. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to contribute to technically complex designs and mentor others within a busy team.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services from concept through to completion, including calculations, specifications, reports and plant schedules
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to site surveys and construction-stage activities
• Produce and review drawings and technical documentation using digital tools
• Apply relevant standards and legislation to designs and promote energy efficiency and sustainability
• Support multiple projects concurrently and manage priorities
• Collaborate with clients, architects and other engineers to ensure successful delivery

Key requirements

• Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering (ideal)
• Strong technical capability and ability to work independently
• Experience with digital design tools and across multiple projects
• Interest in progressing towards Chartered Engineer status
• Senior-level experience with mentoring/coordination would be advantageous
• Security clearance or ability to meet MOD SC level criteria
