Overview

In this role you will support a long-standing East London-based main contractor with procurement across a range of sectors. You will work closely with project teams to secure materials and manage sub-contractor buying, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery. The position offers exposure to projects from £1m to £20m across residential, commercial, healthcare, education and heritage sectors. This is an opportunity to contribute to reliable, quality-focused delivery and help drive repeat business.

Responsibilities

• procure materials for multiple projects and manage supplier relationships
• coordinate sub-contractor buying activities and align with project needs
• secure commercial terms and optimise cost across projects
• support procurement strategy across diverse sectors
• collaborate with project teams to meet timelines and quality standards

Key requirements

• experience as a Buyer in a Main Contractor environment
• sub-contractor buying experience is ideal
• materials buying background also considered
• experience across multiple sectors (residential, commercial, healthcare, education, heritage) preferred
• strong commercial skills and cost awareness
• good longevity with previous employers
• able to commute to East London daily
