Associate – IP & Tech Transactions

Overview

In this role you will join a leading international law firm in London as a mid-level associate focusing on life sciences IP and technology transactions. You will support high-value collaborations, licensing, and cross-border deals, collaborating across offices and practice areas. You’ll advise on IP structuring, risk management, and commercial agreements, driving practical, client-focused outcomes. Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of IP and technology transactions (life sciences collaborations, licensing, R&D agreements, outsourcing and technology development)
• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial and IP-driven documents
• Provide strategic IP structuring and risk management guidance
• Collaborate with corporate, regulatory and disputes practices on integrated mandates
• Manage client relationships and deliver commercial, practical advice
• Work with cross-border teams across the firm’s international offices
• Contribute to execution of high-value, global transactions
• Support business development and client-facing initiatives

Key requirements

• Approximately 2–4 years’ PQE in IP, technology transactions or commercial law
• Significant experience in life sciences-related transactions
• Strong drafting and negotiation of complex agreements
• Excellent academic record
• Strong IP and technology law technical understanding
• Ability to work in cross-border, multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills
• Demonstrated initiative and ownership of workstreams
• Excellent written communication and drafting ability
