Overview
As HVAC Mechanical Engineer, you apply conceptual mechanical knowledge to solve straightforward HVAC problems with guidance. You contribute to FEED, studies, and detailed design, aligning solutions with company processes and standards. You support construction and project execution, while applying HSE criteria and coordinating with multiple disciplines. This role offers scope to impact engineering quality, cost, and schedule within the energy infrastructure domain.
Responsibilities
- Perform FEED, studies, and detailed design tasks and calculations
- Prepare clear design calculations, analyses, reports, and procedures
- Prioritize work to meet deadlines and budgets
- Apply relevant procedures, standards, and project requirements across disciplines
- Produce mechanical data sheets and equipment specifications per process needs
- Manage equipment requisitions and coordinate with procurement
- Review supplier documents, drawings, and test procedures
- Coordinate interdisciplinary documentation reviews with other engineering teams
- Support inspections and testing; participate in final manufacturer inspections as needed
- Contribute to subcontract inputs related to Mechanical engineering and installation
- Ensure compliance with HSE criteria in engineering decisions
- Assist with control changes and report deviations to management
- Support project closeout activities and capture lessons learned
Key requirements
- 3-8 years of experience in oil and gas with major contractors or consultants performing detail design
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred)
- Preferably Registered Engineer in Training or professional society member
- Good English communication skills (B2 level)
- Leadership skills and ability to coordinate discipline tasks
- Ability to make work process recommendations and support construction from office or site
- Familiar with standards, codes, and guidelines related to discipline
