Overview

As a Knowledge Lawyer in Employment, you enable the firm to deliver high-quality legal services through robust precedents, training, and knowledge resources. You will shape knowledge materials and training for lawyers, trainees, and clients, while monitoring developments and supporting fee earners. You’ll collaborate with business services to improve access to resources and drive efficiencies through process and tech-enabled projects. This role combines legal expertise with knowledge management to support a leading employment practice.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain precedents and annotate external resources
• Design and deliver internal training for trainees, junior lawyers, and updates for practice groups
• Deliver training to clients when appropriate
• Monitor legal developments and assess impact for fee earners
• Manage knowledge materials in the firm’s database and promote usage
• Collaborate with business services to improve accessibility of resources
• Identify risks and work with Risk team to minimise them
• Drive efficiencies via process optimisation, project management, or technology
• Contribute to legal insights, articles, and tender responses
• Liaise with other Knowledge Lawyers to enhance knowledge systems
• Support and mentor trainees in research and knowledge application

Key requirements

• At least 5 years’ PQE in employment law
• Strong legal drafting and attention to detail
• Ability to digest, analyse and communicate complex legal information
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Self-motivation with a client-focused approach
• Familiarity with tools/tech to support project delivery
