Overview

In this role you will lead the Public Areas team at a luxury hotel in Marylebone, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and presentation across all guest-facing and back‑of‑house spaces. You will work closely with Engineering and other departments to coordinate maintenance, inspections, and schedules that uphold the property’s high standards. You will also train and support colleagues, maintain accurate records, and promote a safe, collaborative work environment. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide the Public Areas team, providing training and coaching to maintain cleanliness and service standards.
  • Perform regular inspections of public areas, guest facilities, meeting rooms, lifts, restrooms, gym, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
  • Coordinate daily cleaning activities, deep-clean schedules, and special projects while maintaining high standards.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues; collaborate with Engineering to ensure timely resolution and minimize disruption to guests and colleagues.
  • Monitor condition of fixtures, furnishings, flooring, upholstery, plants, and decorative features; arrange repairs or restoration as needed.
  • Manage cleaning supplies, equipment, and inventory, ensuring availability and proper usage per procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, cleaning activities, maintenance requests, and departmental reports.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative environment while promoting health, safety, and compliance across all areas

Key requirements

  • Experienced hospitality professional with supervisory experience in housekeeping or public areas, ideally in a luxury hotel
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication abilities and cross-department relationship building
  • Experience in managing teams, coordinating maintenance follow-up, and ensuring health and safety compliance
