Air Conditioning Engineer

Overview

In this role you will install, service and repair a range of commercial and residential air conditioning systems. You will work closely with customers and the on-site team to diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and manufacturer standards. The position involves working with Daikin, Panasonic and Mitsubishi Electric systems, including VRV/VRF, split and heat pump configurations, with potential out-of-hours callouts. London-based, you’ll contribute to reliable climate control solutions and uphold high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out installations
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on air conditioning systems
• Diagnose and repair faults across VRV/VRF, split, and heat pump systems
• Service and maintain equipment to manufacturer standards
• Attend reactive breakdown callouts and resolve issues efficiently
• Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation
• Identify and recommend remedial works where required
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with procedures and regulations
• Maintain high standards of customer service and communication on site
• Work independently and manage daily workload
• Participate in an out-of-hours callout rota
• Ensure company vehicle, tools, and equipment are maintained in good condition

Key requirements

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer (minimum 3 years)
• Strong working knowledge of Daikin, Panasonic and Mitsubishi Electric systems
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
• Experience servicing and maintaining air conditioning systems
• Knowledge of VRV/VRF, split systems and heat pumps
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Good understanding of refrigeration principles and electrical controls
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Full UK driving licence
• F-Gas Category 1 Certification
• Relevant HVAC / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning qualification
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (preferred)
