Senior Cargo Underwriter (Multinational)

Overview

In this role you will grow and protect the cargo book by underwriting new and renewing business, delivering technical support, and coordinating programme administration for a multinational portfolio. You will build broker and client relationships across the UK and internationally, ensuring high-quality underwriting and service delivery. You will collaborate across teams to resolve issues, align with claims and processing, and drive profitable growth in line with AIG’s ambitions. Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal cargo business and provide technical support on assigned accounts
• Develop and maintain broker and client relationships
• Source and transact business while gathering necessary underwriting information
• Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve service issues and expedite decisions
• Collaborate with UK Distribution/Broker Relationship Teams to manage account activity pipeline
• Define Claims Reporting requirements with brokers and clients for major accounts
• Coordinate with overseas Core processing teams to ensure consistency of service delivery
• Address account queries and insurance programme issues
• Liaise with claims, clients and brokers to maintain high-quality service and risk controls

Key requirements

• Advanced working knowledge of multinational cargo business
• Extensive experience in a commercial insurance environment / London Market
• Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with sound decision-making and problem-solving
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment, manage ambiguity, and prioritize tasks
• Strong communication and collaborative relationship-building skills
• Commercial acumen and willingness to learn about the industry
• CII qualification desirable or progression towards ACII
