Litigation Executive / Associate – Liability Defence

Overview

In this role you will handle a varied docket of employers’ liability and public liability claims, spanning pre-litigation to litigated matters. You will work within a respected defendant personal injury team in Birmingham, engaging with high-value, multi-track cases and multi-defendant and Part 20 claims. You’ll collaborate with partners and specialists while building strong client relationships and managing a busy workload. This hybrid position offers mentoring, development, and clear progression within a well-regarded practice. You will contribute to complex cases across construction, manufacturing, leisure, and retail sectors, shaping outcomes on challenging matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of employers’ liability and public liability claims (pre-litigation and litigation)
• Handle high-value, multi-track cases including multi-defendant and Part 20 claims
• Collaborate with partners and experts and maintain strong client relationships
• Balance multiple cases effectively and contribute to policy coverage understanding
• Work in a hybrid office/home setup with opportunities for development and progression

Key requirements

• UK qualified Solicitor or CILEX (or equivalent experience)
• 2-5 years’ experience in defendant personal injury litigation
• Experience assisting on complex multi-track matters
• Basic understanding of policy coverage
• Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness
• Proactive, detail-driven, able to work in a team and manage own workload
