Associate – Restructuring & Insolvency – Bristol – 2-5 PQE

Overview

In this Bristol-based Associate role, you will support the Restructuring & Insolvency team on both contentious and non-contentious matters, handling high-profile, time-critical mandates across domestic and cross-border work. You’ll collaborate with partners, lenders, debtors, sponsors and insolvency practitioners to deliver practical, strategic advice. The role offers exposure to varied sectors and close work with turnaround professionals, with a strong emphasis on training and progression within a collegiate culture.

Responsibilities

• Advise debtors, lenders, sponsors, distressed investors and insolvency practitioners
• Work on complex, time-sensitive restructuring matters, across contentious and non-contentious work
• Support partners on high-profile domestic and cross-border mandates
• Handle financing, security and restructuring documentation
• Collaborate with restructuring accountants and turnaround professionals
• Contribute to cross-border matters through international offices
• Engage in high-value work across sectors such as retail, financial services, digital, energy, real estate and infrastructure

Key requirements

• 2-5 years’ PQE
• Experience in restructuring, insolvency and/or special situations
• Interest in both contentious and non-contentious matters
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver practical, strategic advice
• Confidence handling complex, fast-moving matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities and initiative
