Health & Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead health, safety and compliance across a North West-based construction and refurbishment business. You will mainly work from the Oldham office with regular site visits, owning RAMS, accreditations, ISO processes and Construction Phase Plans. You’ll audit sites, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement in H&S, quality and environmental standards. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape safety culture in a growing company delivering fit-out and fire door projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
• Manage and maintain company accreditations
• Create and update Construction Phase Plans
• Oversee ISO standards and compliance processes
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Provide guidance to operational teams on health and safety
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Drive continuous improvement of H&S, quality and environmental standards

Key requirements

• NEBOSH qualification essential
• Previous H&S Manager or senior H&S role in construction
• Strong understanding of fit-out, refurbishment, and fire door projects
• Experience managing accreditations, ISO standards, RAMS, and Construction Phase Plans
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills
• Degree desirable but not essential
• Full UK Driving Licence
