Electrical Engineer

Overview

As an Electrical Engineer at Mott MacDonald Bentley, you will shape electrical systems across projects supplied to Yorkshire Water, from design through commissioning. You’ll work within our engineering team to ensure safe, compliant delivery and integration of electrical works across lifecycle stages. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve water infrastructure, contribute to environmental outcomes, and mentor junior engineers. This role offers hands-on impact and growth within AMP8 frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Support design, installation and commissioning of electrical systems (LVDBs and MCCs)
• Assist with pre-construction activities such as surveys and site management
• Manage construction tasks including outage planning, subcontractor coordination, programme management and electrical safety (toward AP status)
• Prepare/review RAMS and lead QA activities, including inspection/test plans and completion records
• Drive BS7671 compliance and manage projects to As-Constructed status and final documentation
• Deliver functional commissioning of electrical assets
• Mentor Apprentices and Graduate Electrical Engineers

Key requirements

• CSCS, ECS or JIB
• HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience of working to electrical procedures, including providing Electrical Permits
• Understand civil engineering principles and practices
• Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
