Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this Electrical Engineer role, you will perform planned, preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical systems across the site to ensure reliability and cost-effective performance. You will work within a team to manage asset performance data, report on improvements, and support a safe, high-quality maintenance culture. The role offers clear progression and structured training as part of SMART’s growth-focused environment. You will engage with cross-functional teams to uphold safety and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine PPM on electrical plant per site schedules and asset lists
• Execute reactive tasks across the building, including stores and fabric items, highlighting improvement areas
• Remedy faults promptly to maintain serviceability
• Maintain and close out tickets in CMMS (Concept, Smart Hub) with accurate information
• Complete paperwork for reactive/breakdown works and pass to contract administrator promptly
• Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks
• Keep Smart-managed plant rooms secure, clean and tidy

Key requirements

• Formal electrical installations training (City and Guilds) or equivalent NVQ/building services maintenance
• 18th Edition BS7671
• Experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV electrical systems
• Ability to fault-find using alarm data and graphical information
