Electrical Engineer

Overview

As an Electrical Engineer you will maintain and inspect facilities on a key Southbank Centre contract, ensuring statutory compliance and reliable performance. You will work across maintenance, repairs, and minor fabric tasks while engaging with clients to deliver practical solutions. The role involves responding to breakdowns, planning preventative work, and guiding sub-contractors to meet safety standards. It offers a 4 days on/4 days off pattern with night shifts, providing opportunities to influence safety, reliability, and guest experiences. Responsibilities

• Plan, inspect and perform repairs or preventative maintenance; respond to breakdowns promptly
• Carry out reactive and planned services across offices, commercial, distribution, and industrial sites
• Conduct statutory inspections (Emergency Lighting, Water Temp checks, Fire Door inspection/repairs, Plumbing, Lighting checks) and minor reactive works
• Engage with customers professionally and manage queries or complaints as an ambassador for the company
• Support subcontractors on site and provide technical guidance to the client and contract team
• Perform minor building fabric repairs and ensure work aligns with specifications and Health & Safety standards
• Maintain site documentation and records
• Work within risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work processes
• Record work accurately using paper and computer-based systems
• Utilise BMS systems and maintain maintenance schedules (SFG 20 knowledge desirable)

Key requirements

• Experience in a comparable facilities management role with basic plumbing, carpentry, and redecoration tasks
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in facilities maintenance
• Ability to work day and night shifts
• Good IT literacy (Word, Excel)
• Ability to undertake statutory ppm inspections and risk assessments
• Experience with BMS systems and maintenance scheduling (SFG 20 desirable)
• Right to work in the UK
