Senior Specialist, Accounting

Overview

In this role you will deliver timely and accurate management accounts and financial analysis to support business decisions within L3Harris Maritime UK. You will work closely with the finance team to maintain controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and SOX. The role offers exposure to month-end and statutory processes in a defense/maritime environment and a path to contribute to strategic financial improvements. This is a hands-on position that shapes financial reporting for a critical segment of the business. You will join a team focused on disciplined financial governance and performance delivery.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts with timeliness and accuracy
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journals (accruals, prepayments, provisions)
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
• Maintain the general ledger and accurate recording of transactions
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
• Uphold internal policies and SOX compliance, support audits
• Assist with statutory accounts and tax information as required
• Recommend improvements to financial processes and controls

Key requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience
• Experience in management accounting or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
