Overview

As a Vice President in Citi Markets Communications, you will design and execute integrated communications plans for Citi’s Equities business, translating complex financial themes into accessible narratives for media, clients, and colleagues. You’ll manage proactive media relations, executive communications, and social media amplification to support growth objectives and strengthen Citi’s reputation. You’ll partner with senior leaders and external agencies to align messaging with regulatory requirements and business priorities. This role offers the chance to shape thought leadership and crisis response in a fast-paced, market-facing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies for the Equities business aligned to Citi Markets growth objectives
  • Translate complex topics into clear narratives for media, clients, and internal audiences
  • Drive proactive and reactive media relations with financial journalists and investment press
  • Lead social media content strategy and amplification of leadership thought leadership across digital channels
  • Support internal communications to keep colleagues informed on Equities priorities
  • Draft high-quality communications materials (media pitches, press releases, executive talking points, scripts, digital content)
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and SMEs to ensure messaging aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with external agencies and internal teams on events and investor forums
  • Identify reputational risks and opportunities, developing solutions to enhance visibility and credibility of Citi’s platforms
  • Measure effectiveness of communication strategies using qualitative and quantitative insights

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Finance, Journalism, Public Relations or related field; advanced degree a plus
  • Proven experience in corporate/financial communications or PR with exposure to capital markets
  • Ability to translate sophisticated content into accessible messaging
  • Track record of developing and executing multi-channel communication strategies for senior leaders
  • Experience managing media relationships with financial press and handling sensitive inquiries
  • Experience developing thought leadership and executive communications for C-suite professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams in a fast-paced environment
