UI Designer

Overview

As a UI Designer at Hays, you will craft intuitive, visually compelling interfaces for immersive experiences, live events, exhibitions, and interactive campaigns. You’ll work across touchscreens, displays, and web platforms, translating user needs into engaging digital interactions. You’ll contribute to design systems and component libraries while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end experiences. This role blends creativity with new tools and AI-enabled workflows to shape high-impact digital interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design user interfaces for digital products, websites and interactive experiences
• Create intuitive experiences across touchscreens, interactive displays and web-based platforms
• Translate user needs and business objectives into engaging digital experiences
• Produce high-quality interface designs including layouts, typography, component libraries and design systems
• Support discovery workshops, user journey mapping and design thinking activities
• Collaborate with developers and wider project teams to bring concepts to life
• Contribute throughout the design lifecycle from concept and prototyping through to delivery
• Keep up to date with emerging design tools, technologies and AI-enabled workflows

Key requirements

• Previous experience within a creative agency, design studio, digital agency or in-house product team
• Strong UI design expertise with excellent visual design skills and attention to detail
• Proven experience using Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
• A good understanding of UX principles, user journeys and user-centred design
• Experience designing websites, digital products, applications or interactive experiences
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience taking projects from concept through to delivery
• A portfolio demonstrating high-quality digital and interactive design work
