As VP Commercial & Marketing, you will own the multi-jurisdiction marketing strategy across brand, acquisition, and retention to drive sustainable growth. You’ll lead a high-performing team, collaborate with product, trading, data, and leadership, and relentlessly optimise ROI and unit economics. You’ll shape go-to-market and brand positioning in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Responsibilities
- Own the multi-jurisdiction marketing strategy from design to execution across brand, acquisition, and retention
- Shape go-to-market projects and commercial strategy for core brands
- Deliver ROI by managing the annual marketing budget and ensuring efficient spend
- Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team
- Scale performance marketing across paid channels with improved CAC, ROAS, and payback
- Sharpen the Smarkets brand—positioning, voice, and market presence
- Drive retention through CRM and lifecycle marketing to turn new users into high-value traders
- Own the key metrics and make data-driven decisions
- Partner cross-functionally with product, trading, data, and commercial teams to align marketing with the business roadmap
Key requirements
- Proven Brand Builder: senior marketing leader with a track record of scaling a brand
- D2C Experience: direct relationship with customers in a consumer business
- Multiple markets: experience executing marketing strategy across regions
- Efficient Growth: demonstrated ROI-focused growth through acquisition
- Full-Funnel Fluency: ownership of brand, performance acquisition, and retention
- Genuinely Data-Driven: strong focus on CAC, LTV, ROAS, payback
- Builder and Operator: hands-on, decisive, willing to roll up sleeves
- Communicator: excellent written and spoken English, cross-functional collaboration
- Nice-to-have: experience in sports, sports betting, or gaming
