Senior Health & Safety Consultant

Overview

In this role you help shape health, safety and environmental outcomes for frontline teams across Perth and national projects. You’ll support diverse clients in navigating WHS requirements, improving contractor safety management and adopting contemporary HSE practices. You’ll work with a cross-functional team to deliver tailored, practical safety solutions that meet legislative and client obligations. Responsibilities

• Conduct desktop and onsite contractor assurance reviews to support contractor safety management
• Evaluate HSE plans and onsite arrangements across various contexts and industries
• Provide in-field safety and project support for principal contractor construction activities (geotechnical site investigations and contaminated land remediation)
• Collaborate with a range of HSE consultants and partners to deliver contemporary safety consulting and compliance solutions
• Research, analyse, and recommend best practice HSE approaches tailored to client needs

Key requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a health and safety consultant
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks and propose solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
• Experience performing onsite inspections and audits; Lead Auditor certification would be advantageous
• Knowledge of contemporary H&S management approaches, including psychosocial risk management
• Willingness to understand consulting and project lifecycles and build client relationships, especially with government clients
• Australian Driver’s License
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a Cert IV in WHS as a minimum
