Overview

As Building Surveyor, you join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy delivering retrofit schemes for local authorities and housing associations. You will support client liaison, present design schemes, and contribute to project programming, while acting as contract administrator or employer’s agent on diverse building types. You’ll prepare schemes for approval, handle planning and building control approvals, and manage tendering and reporting. This role emphasizes sustainable delivery, collaboration, and professional growth in a client‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Support client liaison and present design schemes
• Act as contract administrator or employer’s agent on various building types
• Prepare and present complete scheme designs for approval
• Submit planning, listed building consent, and building control applications
• Invite tenders, analyze bids, and prepare tender reports and documents
• Provide professional services including party wall procedures and condition surveys
• Inspect buildings to assess condition and future maintenance liabilities and prepare reports

Key requirements

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or equivalent
• Two years+ post-qualification experience
• Associate membership of RICS or equivalent
• Experience with retrofit schemes and decarbonisation schemes
