Ruby / JavaScript Web Developer – Rails Fintech 50

Overview

In this role you will design, develop and maintain Rails-based web applications for a fast-growing fintech client. You will collaborate in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software and help design a REST API. The project involves stabilising and extending a web platform built on Ruby and Java, with cloud and server-side components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ship scalable solutions and drive product readiness. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge technology in a dynamic, flat-structured London-based team with a strong focus on technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new applications in collaboration with the existing team
• Maintain and enhance current applications
• Design and help implement a REST API
• Ensure development has adequate test coverage
• Stabilise and extend the web platform built on Ruby and Java, including AWS EC2
• Work within an Agile team to deliver high-quality software

Key requirements

• Degree level or equivalent
• Commercial experience designing and building Ruby on Rails applications
• Ruby and JavaScript proficiency
• Ideally Angular or Node.js
• HTML and CSS
• Rails, jQuery
• Git version control
• Linux working knowledge
• Experience with mobile applications beneficial
• Hadoop experience is a plus but not required
