Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor needed for a six-month freelance assignment in Howden (DN14) to support a highway civils project. You will clear backlogs of BoQs and cost valuations while applying NEC contract expertise to commercial management of civil/highways/drainage works. Immediate availability is essential, with start ASAP or within one week preferred. The role offers hands-on impact on a road construction package including roundabouts, working within a project team to maintain commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Clear backlog of BoQs and cost valuations
• Provide NEC-based commercial management for civil/highways/drainage works
• Monitor cost control and valuations throughout the project
• Support procurement and subcontractor administration as part of the commercial team
• Collaborate with project team to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery

Key requirements

• Substantial NEC Contract experience
• Commercial management of civil engineering/highways/drainage projects
• Availability to start immediately or within one week
• Experience with BoQ preparation and cost valuations
• Knowledge of road/highways construction projects
• Location in or near Howden/DN14 (on-site expectation)
