Risk & Compliance Manager London or Sussex n Hybrid 2/3 days a week in office
n We're working with a leading regional law firm looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to join its central management team.
n This is a broad, hands-on role covering professional risk, compliance, claims, complaints, insurance and regulatory matters, with significant exposure to partners and senior stakeholders.
The role?
n • Managing and developing risk & compliance policies and proceduresn • Advising fee earners on SRA regulations, professional conduct, ethics and conflictsn • Managing claims and complaints, including liaison with insurers, the SRA and Legal Ombudsmann • Supporting the firm's PI insurance processn • Carrying out compliance audits and identifying areas for improvementn • Delivering training across the firm on risk and compliance mattersn • Coordinating the firm's Lexcel accreditationn • Maintaining risk registers and root cause analysisn • Supporting business continuity planningn • Advising on regulatory requirements and changes in legislationn • Supporting risk and compliance matters relating to M&A and mergersn • Reviewing third-party terms of businessn • Working alongside IT, HR, Finance and other support functions on wider risk mattersn • Supervising a Risk & Compliance Assistant
About you?
n ✅ 7+ years in legal compliance n ✅ Strong knowledge of SRA regulations and professional conductn ✅ Experience managing professional indemnity insurance and claimsn ✅ Strong understanding of risk management within a legal environmentn ✅ Experience handling complaints and regulatory mattersn ✅ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsn ✅ Confidence working with partners and senior managementn ✅ Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving abilities
