Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor in the water sector, you will provide commercial support to project teams and ensure cost controls align with company objectives. You will engage with client representatives on variations, claims, and payments while maintaining accurate reporting and compliance. The role emphasizes improving commercial processes and delivering timely financial metrics at project and business-unit levels. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support value delivery and commercial governance.

Responsibilities

• Produce robust cost and value reporting at project and business-unit levels
• Ensure accurate cash flow reporting
• Perform cost management and forecasting
• Update monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans
• Uphold internal commercial processes across the business unit
• Actively seek improvements to processes and procedures

Key requirements

• Experience in utilities or construction
• Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
• Familiarity with NEC forms of contract and understanding of Construction Law
• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
• Knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
• Experience in estimation and cost analysis
• Excellent communication, numeric, and computer literacy skills
• Organisation and time management with ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
