Overview

In this industrial placement, you will gain hands-on experience in our London-based trading hub, supporting risk analysis and regulatory projects while learning from senior experts. You’ll work across risk control and regulatory initiatives to understand market dynamics and data-driven decision making in a growing European energy trading business. You’ll be exposed to cross-functional collaboration, development opportunities, and a pathway to potential graduate programs. This is a chance to apply analytical skills to real trading challenges and build a foundation for a career in energy markets.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Profit & Loss, trading strategies, and market risks for trading desks and communicate insights to senior stakeholders; provide independent advisory input to the Board
  • Utilize data analytics and modelling to generate insights on market data in Regulatory Risk & Projects
  • Develop unified methodologies and standardised processes across the Risk department
  • Contribute to day-to-day risk management activities and support project delivery in risk-related areas

Key requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with fluent English
  • IT proficiency with SQL, Python or Tableau desirable; ability to use AI-enabled productivity tools
  • Collaborative mindset with curiosity and a drive to learn
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, both independently and in a team
  • Commercial aptitude and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Analytical mind and fast learning ability
  • Motivation to develop skills through a supportive team
