Overview

As Health and Benefits Business Development Director, you will commercialise complex benefit solutions for large corporate clients, collaborating with H&B consultants to shape forward-thinking propositions. You’ll build and manage a robust pipeline, pursue and close opportunities, and align solutions with client needs across UK health, wellbeing, and protection. You will act as the Health & Benefits champion, influencing senior stakeholders and partnering with wider WTW teams to drive growth. This role offers impact across markets, technology-enabled offerings, and cross-functional collaboration within One WTW.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities within H&B for existing and wider firm clients
  • Drive consultative sales growth and broking opportunities with a strategic approach
  • Support GB teams on large/complex regional and global sales opportunities
  • Lead bid management to optimize resources and improve conversion
  • Act as an individual contributor in seeking new sales opportunities and closing deals
  • Bridge customer needs with H&B propositions by creating tailored sales and marketing materials
  • Cross-pollinate contact center approaches to generate relevant leads
  • Report on sales and pipeline globally and locally to improve accountability
  • Develop surveys and research material to inform campaigns
  • Create feedback loops for solution leaders to refine offerings
  • Represent WTW as the H&B Champion and embody the One WTW ethos

Key requirements

  • Deep expertise in the UK Health & Benefits market with a track record of sustainable growth
  • Ability to diagnose complex client issues and translate them into practical recommendations
  • Proven success selling complex, enterprise solutions to sophisticated organisations
  • Experience engaging multiple buyer hubs (HR, Risk, Finance) and building long-term partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to generate revenue, grow market share, and drive commercial outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder, people, and project management skills with timely, high-quality outputs
  • Ability to design cross-functional solutions leveraging organizational capabilities
  • Active engagement with market developments and contribution to new tools and methods
  • Strong executive presence and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and act as a client-focused thought leader
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong digital fluency and ability to use technology and social platforms for outcomes
