Overview

As a Product Designer in Greggs Digital Product, you will own end-to-end design for customer and colleague journeys and shape AI-powered features that enhance loyalty, personalization, and operations. You work autonomously with strategic input from Design Management and collaborate across engineering and product to ensure practical, accessible, high-quality designs. You’ll evolve design systems and apply research to validate decisions, driving impactful improvements in everyday experiences. This role offers a chance to contribute to a collaborative squad in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design across assigned journeys with minimal day-to-day oversight
  • Lead design for AI-powered features influencing customer and colleague experiences
  • Drive adoption of AI tools to improve design quality and delivery speed
  • Create high-fidelity designs and concepts for mobile and web using the Digital Design System
  • Develop UX flows, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate ideas
  • Contribute to design systems, patterns, and accessibility standards
  • Conduct user research (usability testing, interviews, surveys) and synthesize findings into direction
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to frame problems, test hypotheses, and prioritise during discovery
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure practical, scalable designs
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ground design in operational reality
  • Communicate and defend design decisions with evidence and product thinking
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

Key requirements

  • Product Designer with hands-on experience in customer or colleague-facing digital products
  • Able to own design from problem framing to delivery autonomously
  • Strong grounding in UX research and practitioner-led research
  • Hands-on experience with AI in design or research
  • Curious about AI in design and willing to experiment with new tools
  • Proficient in Figma to a high standard (Auto Layout, Components, Design Systems)
  • Clear communicator, able to defend design decisions with evidence
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards
  • Familiar with Agile product environments and cross-functional squads
  • Customer-focused, able to balance user experience with operational realities
