Overview

As Lead Product Designer you will drive design strategy and execution for music creation experiences, guiding a team of designers across software, hardware-integrated workflows, and platform – aligning with product and business priorities to deliver customer impact. You will work closely with product, engineering, and leadership to set standards, ensure accessibility and usability, and unify experiences across the inMusic ecosystem. This role combines hands-on design judgment with team leadership to shape products used by creators worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of product designers across music creation software, hardware-integrated workflows, web, or platform experiences
  • Define design strategy aligned with product and business priorities
  • Establish clear design standards, review practices, and quality expectations
  • Ensure customer insight, research, accessibility, and usability inform design decisions
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to trade off and deliver cohesive experiences
  • Communicate design direction, rationale, and progress to senior stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve or unify experiences across the broader inMusic ecosystem

Key requirements

  • Experience leading product design teams in software, creative tools, music technology, hardware/software products, e-commerce, or platform environments
  • Strong portfolio of customer-centered, commercially relevant design work
  • Ability to coach designers and raise the quality of design execution
  • Experience working with research, analytics, design systems, and cross-functional product teams
  • Strong stakeholder communication and decision-making skills
