Dispenser – Full or Part Time

Overview

In this role you will support safe and accurate dispensing of prescriptions within a busy practice. You will work as part of the dispensing team to process repeat and acute prescriptions, label medications, manage stock, and assist patients with queries. You’ll operate in a calm, patient-focused environment and contribute to high standards of care by following procedures and reporting issues. Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, label and dispense acute and repeat prescriptions
• Carry out dispensing and accuracy checks within training/competence
• Process medication requests and ensure timely delivery of outstanding items
• Order, receive, store and rotate stock; monitor expiry dates
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality
• Follow policies for safe handling of controlled drugs and related legal requirements
• Identify and report dispensing errors, near misses and concerns
• Support colleagues during busy periods and periods of absence
• Refer medication-related questions to clinicians or pharmacists

Key requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or an equivalent recognised dispensing qualification
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications
