Senior to Associate Town Planner

Overview

In this senior Town Planner role you will lead planning projects from feasibility to determination within a design-led placemaking consultancy. You will work closely with urban design and landscape teams to deliver integrated outcomes and manage client relationships across sectors. You will mentor junior planners and contribute to business development in a fast-growing practice. The position offers multi-disciplinary exposure and national-scale opportunities in residential, regeneration, education, healthcare, energy and mixed-use schemes. You drive impactful planning decisions in a collaborative, client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning applications, appeals and site promotion work
• Prepare high-quality planning reports, statements and assessments
• Manage client relationships and coordinate internal and external project teams
• Support stakeholder engagement, consultations and planning committees
• Collaborate with design disciplines to ensure integrated development outcomes
• Mentor and support junior planners within the team
• Contribute to business development and work-winning activity

Key requirements

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy framework
• Proven consultancy or local authority experience managing planning projects
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
