Assistant Quality Advisor

Overview

In this role you support Murphy’s Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework, driving the Quality – Right First Time initiative. You work with site teams to embed quality practices, audits, and continuous improvement. You will help manage quality plans, inspections, and data to identify trends and implement enhancements. This role suits a proactive professional who wants to shape quality culture across engineering and construction projects in a dynamic energy environment.

Responsibilities

• Champion the Quality – Right First Time initiative and promote best practices with the Quality function
• Assist site management to ensure compliance with Quality Plans
• Conduct regular site/workplace inspections and audits for policy and procedure conformance
• Review internal and supplier Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Promote reporting of nonconformances and advise on closing actions
• Collate and review quality statistics and report to Quality Management
• Identify trends from quality data and propose improvements
• Develop and implement quality campaigns and improvement plans with Quality Management
• Support Project teams in developing Quality Plans and ensure documentation aligns with requirements
• Produce and check Quality plans, procedures and related documentation for compliance

Key requirements

• Experience in a quality role
• CQI membership beneficial and ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification beneficial
• MS Office knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)
• Solid understanding of ISO 9001 requirements
• Chartered Quality Professional – MCQI advantageous
• Previous experience in an engineering or construction environment
