Associate Director – Technical Architect, Microsoft D365 F&O, Technology and Transformation

Overview

As a D365 F&O Technical Architect, you will design and deliver technology-enabled finance transformation using the D365 F&O platform. You’ll work within Deloitte’s Emerging Technology team to shape enterprise solutions for global clients, influencing architecture, integrations, data strategies and environment management. You will guide offshore teams, provide technical due diligence, and mentor delivery squads to ensure high-quality outputs. This role combines deep Microsoft tech expertise with business insight to drive measurable impact for clients undergoing complex transformations. You’ll contribute to internal capability development and act as a trusted advisor to client teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, its platform and capabilities within transformation programmes
• Integrate broader Microsoft tech stack (Azure, CE, dual write, Power Platform) and emerging tech (AI) with D365 F&O
• Define and deliver technical architecture, environment management, integrations and data strategies
• Ensure best-practice design patterns for extensions, data and integrations
• Lead and mentor offshore teams within the Global Delivery Network
• Provide quality assurance for code and technical due diligence for designs
• Support the functional team in articulating the technical case for D365 F&O-enabled finance transformation
• Share domain experience to build internal capability and engage clients to solve complex problems
• Become a trusted advisor to client teams and translate business requirements into D365 F&O solutions
• Lead technical design and architecture to align with requirements and best practices
• Drive R&D for go-to-market accelerators and innovate within projects
• Offer technical guidance to development teams and ensure high-quality, standards-compliant deliverables
• Collaborate with clients to understand processes and translate them into effective D365 F&O solutions
• Continuously optimize D365 F&O solutions for performance, scalability, and maintainability

Key requirements

• Deep understanding of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations from a technical and broad functional perspective
• Proficiency in X++, .Net for code review and assurance
• Experience in design and implementation of integrations, data schemas and extensions
• Understanding of licensing models and environment management
• Working knowledge of Fabric, Synapse and data lake technologies
• Experience with multiple full lifecycle MS D365 F&O implementations
• ERP implementation methodology knowledge
