Process Engineer

Overview

In this Process Engineer role, you help elevate malt distilling performance across a large, multi-site network. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive safety, efficiency, and sustainability through data-driven improvements. You lead and support improvement initiatives, solve complex challenges, and mentor stakeholders to build capability. The position offers impact through transforming processes and sharing best practices across 30 distilleries and 4 maltings.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety, operational, energy, and environmental improvements across Malt Distilling
• Lead and support continuous improvement and transformational projects
• Use data and technical expertise to identify opportunities and solve complex challenges
• Champion structured problem-solving and root cause analysis
• Coach and develop stakeholders, building technical capability and growth mindset
• Encourage ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams
• Identify and lead multi-functional problem-solving activities for systemic issues
• Benchmark internally and externally to uncover ideas and insights
• Build partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Technical, Procurement, and Risk & Governance
• Role model high standards and performance excellence
• Lead process risk assessments to ensure safe, efficient, compliant operations across production processes

Key requirements

• Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience leading and delivering projects within operational or multi-functional teams
• Strong collaboration, communication and partnership-building skills
• Experience using statistical analysis tools to support data-driven decisions
• Proven ability to coach and influence others to improve quality, efficiency, and performance
• Passion for continuous improvement and developing people and processes
• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience or qualification is advantageous
• Full clean driving licence with at least one years driving experience
