The Role
As a Geography teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and innovative lessons that inspire curiosity and deepen students’ understanding of the world around them.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering dynamic Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5.
- Differentiating instruction to cater to the diverse learning needs of students, fostering a love for Geography and encouraging active participation in lessons.
- Implementing effective assessment strategies to track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their academic goals.
- Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the development and enhancement of the Geography curriculum, resources, and teaching materials.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
- Participating in extracurricular activities, field trips, and enrichment programs to enhance students’ learning experiences and foster a deeper appreciation for Geography.
- Engaging with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to provide regular updates on students’ progress and maintain positive relationships within the school community.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in Geography or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential experience at Key Stage 5 desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Dedication to promoting high standards of teaching and learning and fostering a positive learning environment.
