OT Cyber Security Consultant

Overview

In this role you will deliver OT cyber security solutions for critical infrastructure sectors, helping clients secure industrial environments. You’ll assess OT networks, ICT/OT interfaces, and ICS components to identify risks and tailor mitigations. You will implement security controls and frameworks while balancing operational continuity. You’ll work with cross-functional teams on high-profile projects across the UK, shaping secure OT/IT convergence. Responsibilities

• Conduct OT security assessments, readiness evaluations, and discovery workshops in industrial environments
• Analyze SCADA, DCS, PLC, and IIoT architectures for security gaps
• Identify OT network vulnerabilities and propose mitigations aligned with industry standards
• Assess OT-specific risks (safety, availability, integrity) and articulate mitigations
• Deploy security controls for OT environments with operational continuity in mind
• Support ICS security frameworks based on IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and OT standards
• Develop network segmentation strategies for OT/IT convergence
• Perform security testing in industrial settings while maintaining safety
• Produce OT threat and risk assessments, policies, and compliance evidence
• Support NIS, NIS2, CAF, and CRA compliance requirements
• Engage operations teams and plant managers, translating risks for non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with IT security teams for cohesive IT/OT security governance

Key requirements

• 4-6 years in cybersecurity with OT/ICS exposure
• Understanding of SCADA, DCS, PLC and their security challenges
• Knowledge of OT security frameworks and standards (IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISA/IEC 62443)
• Familiarity with OT regulations (NIS, NIS2, CAF, CRA)
• Experience with OT threat landscape and ICS attack vectors
• Ability to work in both waterfall and agile delivery lifecycles
• Strong communication for technical and operational stakeholders
• Willingness to travel across the UK for projects
