Automation & Cyber Security Manager

Overview

In this fixed-term role, you will safeguard OT/IT systems in a regulated manufacturing setting by aligning cyber security with automation. You’ll work across OT and IT to maintain compliance, drive secure projects, and enable data-driven improvements. You’ll translate global standards into local implementations and support continuous improvement of automation and security processes. This is a hands-on role with significant cross-functional collaboration and impact on production reliability and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OT cyber security compliance and manage cyber security program, risk assessments, controls, and training
• Conduct security risk assessments, document networks and asset registers, implement countermeasures
• Oversee OT systems lifecycle, including cyber security measures, change control, and documentation
• Plan and execute automation/IT projects aligned with production needs
• Lead validation and continuous improvement initiatives for automation and OT systems
• Ensure system reliability and obsolescence management, applying functional and safety standards
• Develop procedures for IT and IACS integration in GxP and non-GxP environments
• Support OT architecture, standards, governance, and stakeholder collaboration
• Drive change management within engineering teams for security and automation initiatives
• Support deployment of business intelligence tools and data aggregation/reporting processes

Key requirements

• Knowledge of IT and/or OT cyber security frameworks (ISO 2700x, IEC 62443)
• Experience with industrial automation systems and OT-IT integration
• Familiarity with GxP, GMP, GAMP5, IEC 61508/61511
• Understanding of cyber security risk assessments, controls, and system documentation
• Experience in system lifecycle management, including validation and change control
• Knowledge of data protection and information protection principles
• Ability to collaborate across a matrix organisation
• Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Additional cyber security certifications (CISM, CISA, CISSP) are advantageous; GICSP preferred
