Overview

In this role you lead cyber security strategy and governance within an established IT management team, driving risk management, resilience, and security operations. You will shape security posture across information security, governance, assurance, and resilience, collaborating with stakeholders to translate risk into pragmatic action. This is a strategic, leadership-focused opportunity with hybrid working in the South West. You help the organization scale its security program and metrics to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Security Strategy & Risk: develop and implement cyber security strategy and risk framework
• Governance, Assurance & Resilience: oversee governance structures and resilience planning
• Security Operations Oversight: supervise SOC, SIEM, monitoring and incident response
• Reporting & Continuous Improvement: provide management reporting and continual security improvements
• People, Culture & Collaboration: lead and influence security culture across teams

Key requirements

• Significant experience in cyber security, information security, governance or security management
• Proven ability to develop and deliver cyber/information security strategy
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials
• Experience in cyber risk management, audit, assurance and remediation
• Oversight experience with SOC, SIEM, security monitoring and alerting
• Understanding of vulnerability management, penetration testing and remediation
• Experience developing cyber security KPIs and KRIs with reporting
• Strong people management and stakeholder management skills
• Practical, risk-based decision-making with pragmatic judgement
• Broad technical understanding of modern infrastructure, cloud, applications, identity, networks and security operations
