Overview
In this role, you will support EY Ireland’s Consulting business from a Belfast base, focusing on commercial contracting and risk management. You’ll collaborate with EY Legal and engage governance processes to ensure contracts are managed end-to-end and projects meet quality, scope and budget targets. You’ll identify process improvements to streamline work and mitigate risk, and you’ll develop and deliver training on quality and risk topics. You’ll guide engagement teams during client onboarding and contract review, helping to strengthen terms and uphold firm policy. Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate commercial contracts (EY terms, client-issued, and government contracts)
- Collaborate with EY Legal to support contract governance and lifecycle management
- Implement governance and procedures to ensure service quality and on-budget delivery
- Identify and drive initiatives to streamline processes and mitigate risk
- Develop and deliver training on Quality and Risk Management (contracting, management, mitigation)
- Assist in client onboarding (Client Acceptance, Engagement Acceptance) and oversight preparations
- Review client contracts for policy alignment and strengthen terms
- Liaise with internal Risk Management teams (Independence, Legal, Financial Crime)
- Collaborate with consulting teams to address quality, legal and risk concerns
- Advise engagement teams on managing risks in delivering professional services
- Partner with stakeholders to shape enterprise-wide risk and quality solutions
Key requirements
- Degree with 2:1 in Law with 6+ years’ experience in business and legal matters OR Qualified solicitor (NI/ROI) with 4+ years PQE in corporate/commercial law
- Proven track record reviewing and advising on commercial contracts and engaging with client stakeholders
- Experience negotiating OGP Framework and Service Contracts is desirable
- Awareness of NIS 2 Directive is helpful but not essential
- Proven ability to navigate and mitigate common commercial contract risks
- Autonomy in leading meetings and proposing solutions
