Overview
As Senior Consultant in our UK Infrastructure Cost & Commercial Assurance team you will lead assurance reviews on major construction programmes, scrutinise costs, and drive supply chain improvements. You’ll mentor junior colleagues, contribute to bids, and help refine the service line through training and product management. You’ll apply data-driven analysis to contract administration and governance, delivering practical recommendations to maximise value for clients. Responsibilities
- Deliver Cost & Commercial Assurance commissions for Turner & Townsend
- Lead and mentor junior team members to support development
- Contribute to bids and business generation for the service line
- Refine internal training and product management related to the service line
- Conduct assurance reviews on major construction projects and programmes for contractual compliance and control effectiveness
- Analyse complex contracts (NEC3/4/ICE Bespoke) and assess entitlement to cost
- Perform data testing and analysis using PowerBi/Tableau to identify trends
- Produce written findings reports with clear conclusions and recommendations
- Review client-facing outputs and provide constructive feedback
- Foster trust-based relationships with clients and reviewed parties
- Engage with supply chain partners to promote collaboration at project/programme level
- Assess effectiveness of client commercial controls, governance, and decision processes
- Review management of variations, claims, forecasting, and risk allocation to strengthen controls and maximise value
Key requirements
- Assurance or audit experience in construction, commercial or accountancy settings
- Knowledge of procurement routes, disallowed cost areas, target price setting, pain/gain calculations
- Contract Management experience with NEC3/4 (Option C, E) preferred
- Ability to assess cost accuracy and entitlement
- Change management and forecast control
- Data analysis ability with large data sets; PowerBi/Tableau experience preferred
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- People and organisational management experience in a team environment with fluctuating workloads
- Confident presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Professional scepticism with the ability to challenge constructively and maintain independence and quality
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject; professional membership (MRICS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MCIPS) or working towards
