Senior Project Manager – Local Government

Overview

In this role within Mace’s Cities and Places sector, you drive delivery across homes, schools, offices and retail developments for public and private clients. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and risks, and embed safety and sustainability in every step. Collaborating with clients, consultants and contractors, you shape outcomes that improve how people live and work. Responsibilities

• Deliver robust, client‑focused project outcomes
• Manage budgets, risks and sustainable impact
• Lead and engage diverse teams to drive performance against KPIs
• Oversee project management, technical services, and external resources
• Collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors for delivery
• Champion safety, embedding Mace’s HSW framework
• Drive programme, design, procurement and construction to completion

Key requirements

• Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
• Substantial delivery experience on projects/programmes
• Property or infrastructure project management expertise
• Commercial and financial acumen
• Experience leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams
• Experience developing relationships with senior stakeholders
• Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations shaping projects
