Senior Fund Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support hedge fund accounting operations in a dynamic, multi-office environment. You will compute NAVs, manage fee and distribution calculations, and review investor flows and fund expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance. You’ll liaise with fund administrators and auditors, prepare monthly management reports, and drive efficiency while preserving strong internal controls. This position is a hands-on opportunity to influence reporting quality and fund governance in a fast-paced investment setting.

Responsibilities

• Review NAV calculations across hedge funds and PE funds including FX classes, side pockets, and SMAs
• Ensure accurate calculation of management fees, performance fees, distribution waterfalls, and allocations per PPMs/IMAs/LPAs/side letters
• Review investor subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, and distributions processed by fund administrators
• Shadow allocations for select funds and maintain investor information database
• Review fund operating expenses and provide comments or adjustments
• Process expense payments and verify allocations per expense policy
• Review fund administrator-prepared annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors
• Compile information for investor and counterparty due diligence requests and assist with ad hoc requests
• Prepare monthly reporting files for management and other stakeholders
• Implement processes and controls to improve efficiency while maintaining internal control quality

Key requirements

• Must have fund hedge fund accounting experience
• Accounting experience on Private Equity, Venture Capital, and CLO entities a plus
• Public or mixed Big 4 and private accounting background; 8+ yrs of fund accounting experience
• Experience with investor and partnership allocations and related software (Backstop, Hedgetek, Investran, etc.)
