Risk Management – all levels

Overview

In this Risk Manager role within the Midlands Project Controls Team, you will identify, assess and prioritise threats and opportunities on high-profile infrastructure projects across energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities. You’ll manage risk budgets, develop measurable mitigation responses, and produce clear risk reporting for senior leadership. You will apply quantitative risk methods to inform contingency and time risk allowances, using industry tools to support decision making. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape risk management in large-scale programmes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues
• Track threat/opportunity trigger points to support risk budgeting and retirement of threats/opportunities
• Develop measurable risk responses and assess post-mitigation positions
• Monitor overall risk exposure against remaining budget and timeline
• Produce and present fit-for-purpose risk reports for senior management
• Apply quantitative risk assessment to inform contingency and time risk allowances
• Demonstrate competency with risk tools (Safran, @risk, PRA or equivalent)
• Familiarity with web-based reporting tools (ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI)

Key requirements

• Experience delivering risk management on major projects or for blue-chip clients
• Experience in energy, renewables, defence, rail or utilities sectors is advantageous
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to develop new and more effective ways of working
• Working towards or attainment of IRM/APM risk certification preferred
