Fire Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver fire engineering strategies for new and existing buildings
• Perform fire safety assessments and evaluate designs against regulatory requirements
• Prepare fire strategy reports, technical specifications, and engineering calculations
• Conduct evacuation modelling, smoke control analysis, and life safety assessments
• Provide fire safety advice to architects, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Review building plans for compliance with Building Regulations, Approved Document B, and British Standards
• Attend project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams
• Stay informed on industry developments, legislation changes, and new fire engineering technologies

Key requirements

• Background in fire engineering, preferably in a consultancy environment
• Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience preparing fire strategies and technical reports
• Understanding of UK fire safety legislation and building regulations
